Roles
Fractional roles we place
Every fractional and interim role Fractionus places, grouped by function. Open a role to see what it covers, when to hire, and what it costs.
What is a fractional executive?
A fractional executive is a senior leader who works part time, usually one to three days a week, and owns a function the way a full-time hire would. Companies bring one in when the job needs C-suite judgement but not a full-time salary.
The most common fractional C-suite roles are CFO, CMO, CTO, COO and CRO, followed by CHRO, CPO, CDO, CIO and Chief AI Officer. Below the C-suite, Fractionus places heads of function and specialists, plus interim executives who cover an empty seat full time.

Questions about fractional roles
Which fractional role should I hire first?
Hire for the problem costing you the most right now. Before a raise that is usually a CFO. When growth has stalled it is a CMO or CRO. When the founder is the bottleneck on delivery it is a COO. If you are not sure, brief us and we will tell you which role fits.
What is the difference between fractional and interim?
A fractional executive works part time and stays for months or years. An interim executive works full time for a fixed period, usually to cover an empty seat while you hire permanently.
How many days a week does a fractional executive work?
Most start at one to two days a week and adjust after the first 90 days. Specialist roles are often scoped by project rather than by days.
How much does a fractional executive cost?
You pay a day rate or a monthly retainer, so cost follows seniority and days per week. Live day rates by role are in the Fractional Rate Index.
Can a fractional executive become full time?
Yes. Many engagements start fractional and move to contract-to-hire once both sides know the fit works.
Tell us the problem, not the title. We will tell you which role fits, how many days a week it needs, and who in the network has done it before.
