Interim Vice President, Finance, Technology & Business Operations

A respected national not-for-profit is seeking an interim Vice President to provide transitional executive leadership across finance, technology and business operations for a period of three to six months. The organisation operates with a complex model involving multiple stakeholders and regional partners, and relies on strong financial stewardship, data management and technology to deliver on its mission.

The interim leader will assume day-to-day accountability for finance, information technology, cybersecurity, analytics and broader business operations. The priority is continuity and stability, not transformation. The successful candidate will coach an established cross-functional team, strengthen management reporting and dashboards, advise the CEO and board on risk and governance, evaluate technology and AI opportunities responsibly, and prepare thorough transition documentation to support incoming permanent leadership.

• Assume executive accountability for finance, technology and related business operations, maintaining continuity of controls and reporting.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash management, payroll, audit readiness and funder and donor reporting obligations.
• Provide the CEO, executive team and board committees with timely, decision-oriented financial analysis and forward-looking insights.
• Review the technology roadmap, assess cybersecurity and data-privacy posture, and advise on responsible use of AI.
• Lead, coach and support a small established team across finance and technology, reinforcing accountability without unnecessary disruption.
• Maintain risk-management practices, update risk registers, and prepare clear transition documentation for incoming permanent leadership.

• Senior executive background as a CFO, Vice President of Finance, or Vice President of Corporate Services, with responsibility across both finance and technology portfolios.
• Demonstrated experience in a not-for-profit, charitable, membership-based or similar mission-driven environment.
• Strong financial leadership capabilities including budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, audit coordination and charitable-sector reporting.
• Ability to assess cybersecurity posture and evaluate technology investments based on operational value and risk.
• Track record of leading established teams through sensitive transitions with empathy, clarity and sound judgement.
• Capacity to establish credibility quickly, serve as a trusted adviser to a CEO, and prepare the organisation for permanent leadership succession.
