Interim HR Director

A well-established nonprofit operating across 15 locations requires an experienced HR Director on an interim basis to maintain continuity while the permanent director is on leave. The organisation currently has approximately 70 open positions, many of them teaching roles, and needs a hands-on HR leader who can drive recruiting activity, manage a team of five, and handle complex employee relations matters without close supervision.

Payroll processing is not part of this engagement. The role suits a senior HR professional comfortable with high-volume talent acquisition, ADA-related issues, and labour relations. Paycom experience is preferred but not required. A fingerprint-based background check is mandatory prior to commencement.

• Lead recruiting across approximately 70 open positions using Indeed and the organisation's careers site, with a focus on teaching roles.
• Supervise and support five direct reports, facilitating weekly team meetings and setting departmental priorities.
• Research and resolve complex employee relations matters, including ADA-related issues and labour relations.
• Maintain day-to-day HR operations and provide consistent coverage during the HR Director's absence.

• Previous experience in an HR leadership, HR management, or senior HR generalist role.
• Demonstrated high-volume recruiting and talent acquisition capability.
• Experience managing complex employee relations matters, including ADA and labour relations.
• Strong research, investigative, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lead a team independently with minimal direction.
• Paycom experience preferred; bachelor's degree preferred; fingerprint background check required.
