Interim Plant Controller

A manufacturing client near Northbrook, IL requires an Interim Plant Controller to oversee all plant-level accounting operations. The successful candidate will ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain strong internal controls, and deliver timely cost analysis to support manufacturing decisions. Recent SAP ERP experience and prior exposure to a large public company manufacturing environment are both required for this engagement.

This is a hands-on interim role suited to a detail-oriented accounting professional who is comfortable operating at pace in a plant setting, managing both technical accounting responsibilities and a small team of accounting staff.

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes to produce timely and accurate financial statements
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses
• Maintain GAAP-compliant accounting practices and supporting documentation
• Assist with the annual budget, quarterly forecasts, and production cost projections
• Update product costing and manage fixed asset accounting
• Review purchase requisitions and invoices to confirm correct coding
• Produce management reporting and compile supporting reconciliations
• Supervise plant accounting staff

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or CMA preferred
• 7+ years of accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a manufacturing or plant environment
• Recent hands-on experience with SAP ERP
• Advanced Excel skills
• Prior experience within a large public company manufacturing environment
• Detail-oriented and comfortable in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing setting
