Interim Associate Principal - Elementary 2026-2027

Lake Washington School District is seeking interim Associate Principal candidates for the 2026-2027 school year, with the contract commencing upon hire. The role supports the principal in establishing a shared vision for learning at the elementary level, aligned with district-wide goals. The successful candidate will help develop a school culture and instructional programme that advances both student outcomes and staff professional growth.

The position carries responsibility for school organisation, operations, and resource management to maintain a safe and effective learning environment. The role also requires collaboration with faculty and community members, and the ability to understand and respond to diverse political, social, legal, and cultural contexts. A Washington State Administrator credential with Principal endorsement is required.

• Support the principal in articulating and implementing a shared school vision and instructional programme
• Foster a positive school culture that promotes student learning and staff professional development
• Manage school operations, organisation, and resources to maintain a safe and efficient environment
• Collaborate with faculty and community stakeholders to address diverse student and community needs
• Navigate and respond to political, social, legal, and cultural contexts affecting the school
• Carry out assigned administrative tasks in alignment with district policies and procedures

• Washington State Administrator credential with a Principal endorsement
• Experience in elementary school leadership or administration
• Demonstrated ability to support instructional programmes and staff development
• Strong community engagement and stakeholder collaboration skills
• Ability to manage school operations and resources effectively
• Completion of application materials including letter of interest, resume, two letters of recommendation, and three references
