This Managing Director position sits within a high-growth consulting firm's Office of the CFO advisory practice. The successful candidate will lead finance transformation engagements for Fortune 1000 clients, covering operating model design, governance frameworks, core process redesign across Record-to-Report, Order-to-Cash, and Procure-to-Pay, as well as ERP, EPM, automation, and analytics enablement.
The role carries both delivery and commercial responsibilities, requiring strong CFO-level stakeholder influence, an established Boston market network, and the ability to mentor junior team members while contributing to business development and practice growth.
- Lead end-to-end finance transformation workstreams spanning strategy, operating model design, and execution
- Partner with CFOs and finance leadership to define target operating models, governance structures, and performance metrics
- Redesign core finance processes across R2R, O2C, and P2P
- Support deployment of ERP, EPM, automation, and analytics solutions
- Manage multi-workstream programme delivery, ensuring quality, timelines, and measurable outcomes
- Contribute to business development, proposals, and client relationship growth
- 15 or more years of experience in finance transformation, operating model design, shared services, or performance improvement
- Background from a Big Four or top-tier advisory firm
- Established network and market knowledge in the Boston area
- Exposure to finance technology enablement including ERP, EPM, automation, and analytics
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders at CFO and Controller level
- Commercial mindset with appetite for client growth and practice development
