Interim Group Finance Director

A sizeable PE-backed professional services group with significant revenue is looking for an experienced interim Group Finance Director to take ownership of the finance function. The role sits at the intersection of technical finance and commercial leadership, requiring someone who can operate credibly with PE investors and boards while remaining hands-on with the team.

The engagement spans group reporting, FP&A, controls, cash management, statutory compliance, budgeting and forecasting. The successful candidate will also support strategic initiatives such as transformation, M&A, integration and refinancing where required. Experience in professional services, people-led or multi-site services environments is strongly preferred, alongside a track record in PE-backed businesses of comparable scale and complexity.

• Lead the group finance function across reporting, FP&A, controls, cash and statutory compliance
• Partner with the CEO, senior leadership and PE sponsor on financial and commercial performance
• Own budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and board and investor reporting
• Drive improvements to management information, forecasting accuracy and financial controls
• Provide greater visibility of revenue, margins, utilisation and profitability across the group
• Lead and develop the finance team, lifting capability and commercial focus

• Proven background as a Group FD or Finance Director in a sizeable, complex PE-backed business
• Experience in professional services, people-led or multi-site services environments preferred
• Strong technical finance skills combined with commercial and operational credibility
• Ability to engage effectively with PE investors, boards and senior leadership
• Comfortable being hands-on while operating at a strategic level
