Interim Finance Director

An established business services company requires an interim Finance Director to provide technical accounting leadership and hands-on financial management throughout ongoing acquisition activity. The successful candidate will be responsible for financial controls, statutory reporting, and complex accounting matters, while supporting the full acquisition lifecycle from due diligence through to post-acquisition integration of finance functions and systems.

Working directly with the Board, senior management, and external advisers, the director will deliver accurate forecasting, cash flow management, risk assessment, and commercial analysis. The role is fully on-site in Widnes, Cheshire, with an initial six-month duration and an immediate start required.

• Maintain robust financial controls, governance, and reporting frameworks across the business.
• Oversee statutory accounts preparation and complex technical accounting matters.
• Lead financial due diligence, transaction analysis, and acquisition support activities.
• Manage post-acquisition integration of finance functions, systems, and reporting processes.
• Deliver accurate forecasting, cash flow management, and commercial financial analysis.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen financial processes and overall business performance.

• ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified with significant senior-level finance experience.
• Proven track record managing businesses through acquisitions and corporate transactions.
• Strong technical knowledge of financial reporting standards and accounting requirements.
• Experience in financial due diligence, disposals, or related transaction work.
• Commercially astute and confident operating at Board level.
• Immediately available and able to commit to a six-month on-site assignment in Widnes.
