An interim Finance Director role within a high-growth, multi-product insurance business in Central London, reporting to the CFO and CEO. The six-month engagement covers financial reporting, FP&A, forecasting, and leading finance through a period of operational change.
This interim Finance Director position sits within a high-growth insurance business operating across multiple product lines. Reporting to the CFO and CEO and working alongside Group Finance, the role is responsible for strengthening financial controls, improving management information, and providing commercial challenge to senior leadership throughout a period of strategic and operational change.
The engagement runs for approximately six months and is based in Central London on a hybrid basis, with three to four days per week in the office. A key deliverable is creating a structured handover to an incoming permanent Finance Director. Candidates must hold a professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) and bring direct experience in insurance, MGA, broking, or regulated financial services.
- Serve as the primary finance partner to the senior leadership team, providing commercial challenge and strategic insight.
- Own the monthly performance reporting cycle, including month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close.
- Improve management information, reporting quality, and financial visibility across the business.
- Strengthen cash flow, working capital management, and forecasting processes.
- Lead finance input into transformation, process improvement, and systems change initiatives.
- Develop and support the finance team, building towards a smooth handover to a permanent Finance Director.
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with proven Finance Director or senior finance leadership experience.
- Strong background in insurance, MGA, broking, or regulated financial services environments is essential.
- Expertise across FP&A, financial control, forecasting, and performance reporting.
- Demonstrated track record delivering finance transformation, process improvements, and change programmes.
- Commercially astute with strong stakeholder management and team leadership capability.
