Interim Finance Director

Adecco's client, a social care or housing organisation based in London, is seeking an experienced Interim Finance Director for a six-month engagement. The role sits at Executive and Board level, requiring someone who can quickly assess the organisation's financial position and implement meaningful improvements across controls, reporting, budgeting and systems.

The post-holder will lead the 2026/27 budgeting cycle, drive a finance systems transformation programme, and mentor the existing finance team to build a stronger, more capable function. Hybrid working is available, and the role is available to commence immediately.

• Review existing financial controls, practices and reporting to establish an accurate picture of organisational finances.
• Design and implement a fit-for-purpose budgeting process for the 2026/27 cycle (October 2026 to March 2027).
• Lead a finance systems transformation programme, aligning processes and reporting with organisational objectives.
• Provide strategic financial advice and constructive challenge at Executive and Board level.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial governance, efficiency and decision-making across the business.
• Mentor and lead the finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

• Proven track record operating at Finance Director, Executive or senior consultant level.
• Significant experience in social care, housing, or a closely related not-for-profit or regulated environment, preferred.
• Strong expertise in strategic financial planning, budgeting and forecasting.
• Demonstrated experience leading finance transformation and systems improvement initiatives.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and provide credible guidance under pressure.
• Professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
