Part-Time Interim Executive Director & Project Manager

The Town of Braintree is seeking an experienced interim leader to oversee all aspects of the Braintree-Randolph Emergency Communications Center (BRECC), a newly formed regional dispatch district serving Braintree and Randolph. The role reports to the Braintree Mayor and carries responsibility for standing up a new dispatch facility from design through operation.

The position involves guiding facility design and fit-out decisions including technology, furniture, and layout, while developing governance policies for the Operational Committee. The appointed individual will also administer budgets, coordinate procurement and maintenance of dispatch technology, and manage staffing across the centre. Relevant certifications such as COML or COM-T and multi-jurisdiction interoperability experience are preferred.

• Oversee design, development, and operational set-up of the BRECC dispatch facility
• Manage regional 911 and public safety dispatch centre operations day to day
• Administer operational budgets and report financial performance to stakeholders
• Research, draft, and propose policies and procedures for the Operational Committee
• Hire, evaluate, and review dispatch centre personnel
• Coordinate procurement, maintenance, and upgrades of dispatch technology and equipment

• 3 or more years of relevant experience in public safety communications, emergency management, or a related field
• Working knowledge of Fire, Police, and EMS communications and current 911 systems
• Familiarity with industry standards including APCO, NFPA, and IAFC/IMSA frequency coordination
• Valid driver's licence and ability to pass a police records check
• COML or COM-T certification with multi-jurisdiction interoperability experience preferred
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, coach staff, and lead high-performance teams
