Executive Director (Part-Time)

The Prince William County Bar Association (PWCBA) is a not-for-profit organisation serving 465 members across Prince William County and the Cities of Manassas and Manassas Park, Virginia. Recognised statewide for its work in member development and public access to justice, the PWCBA is seeking a part-time Executive Director following the departure of its current director in early 2027. A structured handover and training period will be provided to ensure continuity for members and the public.

The role encompasses operational oversight, staff management, budget collaboration with the Treasurer and Budget Committee, communications production, and administration of the Prince William Lawyer Referral Service. The successful candidate will also develop public legal education content, manage the membership database, and maintain relationships with the ABA, Virginia State Bar, and other bar associations. Candidates must be able to pass a background check.

• Oversee daily operations of the bar association and serve as liaison to the Executive Board
• Manage and implement programming related to community service, public relations, member benefits, education, and social events
• Produce the monthly newsletter, press releases, social media content, and annual membership directory, and maintain the website and listserv
• Administer the Prince William Lawyer Referral Service and supervise the LRS Coordinator and Administrative Assistant
• Collaborate with the Treasurer and Budget Committee on annual budgeting and financial management
• Develop public legal education content and maintain liaisons with the ABA, Virginia State Bar, and specialty bar associations

• Prior experience as a chief staff executive or in a senior management role, preferably within a non-profit association, foundation, or law-related organisation
• Strong strategic leadership skills with the ability to foster innovation and collaboration
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills, including submission of a writing sample
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, Canva, SurveyMonkey, and AI tools
• Familiarity with the legal profession, court administration, and lawyer regulation
• Exceptional time management, interpersonal skills, and high ethical standards, and ability to pass a background check
