Interim Director of Mission Control

An Oregon healthcare facility is seeking an interim Director of Mission Control to oversee patient placement, transfer coordination, behavioural health coordination, administrative on-call support, and related operational functions. The role is focused on stabilising department operations while maintaining effective patient flow and throughput across a complex healthcare environment.

The director will provide strategic oversight across the Transfer Centre, Patient Placement, Behavioural Health Coordination, programme administration, and system analytics. Close collaboration with nursing, the Emergency Department, bed management, staffing, and medical staff is central to the role, with an emphasis on identifying barriers to patient flow and implementing practical, sustainable solutions. Availability to commence within 2 to 3 weeks of acceptance is required.

• Oversee patient placement, transfer coordination, behavioural health coordination, and administrative on-call support across the Mission Control function
• Provide strategic oversight of the Transfer Centre, Patient Placement, and system analytics, ensuring consistent operational performance
• Partner with nursing, Emergency Department, bed management, staffing, and medical staff to identify and resolve barriers to patient flow
• Stabilise department operations and maintain effective throughput during a period of transition
• Strengthen processes, accountability, communication, and staffing strategies to sustain Mission Control performance
• Foster a collaborative and engaged team environment across all Mission Control functions

• Bachelor's degree required
• Active Oregon RN licence required
• Demonstrated experience in patient flow, transfer coordination, or Mission Control leadership within a complex healthcare setting
• Ability to partner effectively with clinical and operational leaders across multiple departments
• Available to commence the role within 2 to 3 weeks of acceptance
