Friendship Public Charter School
Deputy Chief People Officer (Part-Time / Temporary)
A part-time, temporary engagement supporting a public charter school network to move a People Transformation Roadmap from strategy into operational execution, covering onboarding, hiring workflows, HR process standardisation, and talent operating model design.
Friendship Public Charter School is pursuing an ambitious growth agenda and is evolving its People function into an integrated operating system spanning talent acquisition, HR operations, talent development, workforce planning, and performance. To accelerate delivery of its 24-month People Transformation Roadmap, the organisation is bringing on a part-time Deputy Chief People Officer for an initial three-month engagement, with potential extension through June 2027.
This is a hands-on execution role, not a design exercise. The successful candidate will partner with the Chief People Officer and People Team leaders to deliver measurable improvements in employee experience and operational effectiveness, build internal team capacity, and establish sustainable processes and accountability structures that outlast the engagement.
- Lead implementation of priority People Team transformation initiatives, moving from strategy and design to measurable operational outcomes.
- Build and embed a consistent new-hire onboarding process that strengthens Day 1 readiness and campus coordination.
- Streamline hiring-to-start workflows to reduce friction and improve candidate and hiring manager experience.
- Standardise and improve critical HR processes across the organisation.
- Assess ADP utilisation, map high-impact improvements, and develop a roadmap for system optimisation, automation, and integration.
- Coach People Team leaders, strengthen cross-functional accountability, and transfer tools and capabilities needed to sustain gains beyond the engagement.
- At least 15 years of progressive Human Resources experience, including senior leadership roles.
- Demonstrated ability to move from strategic design to hands-on operational execution at pace.
- Strong expertise across talent acquisition, HR operations, workforce planning, and talent development.
- Master's degree in an HR-related discipline preferred; HR certification (e.g. SHRM-SCP, SPHR) preferred.
- Experience designing and implementing HR Business Partner or integrated Talent Strategy operating models.
- Comfort working in a school, non-profit, or mission-driven environment is an advantage.
