Interim CTO / CIO – PE-Backed Specialty Contractor, Dallas

Space Executive is partnering with a private equity firm to place an interim CTO / CIO at a recently acquired, fast-growing specialty contractor business. The business remains founder-led and its technology and data systems are fragmented and underutilised. The PE sponsor is now focused on building out proper systems and reporting infrastructure, and needs a hands-on technology leader to set priorities alongside management and drive delivery.

This is a doing role, not an advisory one. The successful candidate will work closely with the founder, the leadership team and the PE sponsor, supported by a lean internal IT function. Candidates must have hands-on construction or contractor market experience, a proven ERP and CRM implementation track record, and be available to start at short notice.

• Translate consultant recommendations into a clear, actionable technology roadmap
• Lead the selection and implementation of ERP and CRM platforms
• Build data integration and reporting infrastructure, including data warehouse and lake capability
• Manage vendors and drive end-to-end implementation across workstreams
• Collaborate with the founder, leadership team and PE sponsor to align on priorities
• Operate hands-on within a lean internal IT team to deliver outcomes directly

• Background in construction or contractor markets, ideally with businesses managing field crews and labour hours
• Proven track record of ERP and CRM selection and implementation in construction, field services or project-based businesses
• Hands-on experience with data integration and reporting infrastructure build-outs
• Experience leading technology change in a PE-backed, growing business
• Comfortable operating in a lean, high-accountability environment with a delivery-first mindset
• Available for an interim engagement at short notice
