A high-growth B2B software company seeks an interim CTO to stabilise the engineering organisation, align technology strategy with product vision, and lead through an executive transition.
This interim engagement is designed for an experienced technology leader who can step in during an executive transition and maintain organisational momentum. The role centres on stabilising engineering teams, assessing current architecture and development practices, and ensuring technology execution remains aligned with product and business priorities.
The successful candidate will guide decisions on platform architecture, scalability, and cloud infrastructure, while also supporting AI-driven product initiatives. A key deliverable is developing comprehensive transition documentation and handoff plans to enable a smooth onboarding for the incoming permanent CTO.
- Lead engineering and technology teams through a period of executive transition, maintaining stability and execution discipline.
- Partner with executive and product leadership to align technology priorities with business objectives.
- Assess the current engineering organisation, architecture, processes, and development practices, recommending improvements where needed.
- Guide technical decision-making across platform architecture, scalability, infrastructure, and product development.
- Support ongoing AI-driven product initiatives, data platforms, and emerging technology capabilities.
- Develop transition plans and documentation to facilitate a successful handoff to the incoming permanent technology leader.
- Prior experience as a CTO, VP of Engineering, Head of Engineering, or equivalent technology leadership role.
- Proven track record leading engineering organisations within high-growth SaaS or software businesses.
- Strong background in cloud-native environments, platform architecture, distributed systems, and modern development practices.
- Demonstrated ability to partner with product and executive teams to drive business and technology alignment.
- Experience scaling engineering teams and technical organisations in fast-paced environments.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to operate at both strategic and hands-on levels.
