Pivotal Finance seeks a fractional controller to provide financial leadership and accounting oversight for larger, more complex client engagements across multiple industries and geographies.
The fractional controller serves as a senior finance resource for Pivotal Finance's more complex client accounts, handling everything from day-to-day accounting management to large-scale remediation projects. The role spans financial reporting, reconciliations, budgeting, and audit coordination across clients in varied industries.
Working closely with the outsourced CFO practice leader, the controller also reviews and improves client accounting environments, implements policies and procedures, and provides bespoke financial analysis. This is a hands-on role requiring comfort operating at all levels of a client engagement, from detailed data work through to executive-ready reporting.
- Review and assess client accounting environments, recommending and implementing process and system improvements including staff training
- Examine financial statements and reconciliations for accuracy prior to presentation to client management
- Assist clients with budget preparation and forecasting cycles
- Manage relationships and information requests with auditors and other financial professionals
- Support the outsourced CFO practice leader on time-sensitive client projects
- Produce custom financial reports and oversee financial operations as required
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required; CPA is advantageous
- Five or more years of professional accounting experience, ideally across multiple industries and systems
- Strong command of GAAP principles and procedures
- Extensive general ledger experience, including analysis of entire accounting environments or individual system segments
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with confidence engaging clients and colleagues
- High attention to detail combined with strong analytical and problem-solving ability
