GRO Advisory is building a bench of fractional Controllers to own financial infrastructure for founder-led, PE-backed and transitioning businesses on a part-time or project basis.
GRO Advisory is an operator-led firm that partners with founders, private equity firms and executive teams during periods of growth and transition. Through the GRO Collective, the firm is assembling experienced fractional Controllers who can step into client businesses and take genuine ownership of financial infrastructure, whether formalising finance for the first time in a founder-led company, professionalising reporting in a PE-backed portfolio business, or covering a leadership transition.
Engagements are fractional, interim or project-based and are matched to specific client needs. Scope and time commitment vary. Members operate as independent contractors and are expected to represent GRO's standards throughout each engagement. Consumer, franchise and multi-unit experience is viewed favourably given the firm's particular depth in those sectors.
- Own the monthly close and prepare P&L, balance sheet and cash flow reporting
- Lead budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis processes
- Manage cash positions, working capital and AP/AR oversight
- Design and maintain internal controls and accounting process infrastructure
- Produce multi-entity or multi-location consolidated reporting
- Coordinate with external tax, audit and accounting partners on client engagements
- 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including at least 3 years as a Controller or equivalent finance leader
- Demonstrated track record of independently owning a finance function end to end
- Experience building or professionalising financial processes in growing or changing organisations
- Clear communicator of financial information to founders, CEOs and senior leadership
- Familiarity with multi-entity or multi-location reporting; franchise or multi-unit background is an advantage
- Comfortable adopting modern technology and AI tools to improve reporting and close workflows
