This onsite fractional Controller role is a part-time engagement in White Plains, NY, running approximately 15 to 20 hours per week. The successful candidate will assess the existing accounting environment, identify process gaps, and build a stronger foundation for the accounting function. The focus is on technical accounting leadership rather than routine bookkeeping.
The role requires direct, hands-on involvement in implementing ASC 606 revenue recognition standards, guiding a cash-to-accrual transition, designing controls and reconciliation procedures, and providing practical solutions to technical accounting problems. Work is performed onsite using QuickBooks Online (Intuit Enterprise Suite) and Microsoft Excel.
- Implement ASC 606 revenue recognition processes and ensure transactions are accurately recorded
- Guide the organisation through a transition from cash-basis to accrual accounting
- Evaluate existing revenue recognition and general accounting procedures, recommending improvements
- Develop and implement accounting controls, reconciliations, and formal procedures
- Troubleshoot technical accounting issues and deliver practical, timely solutions
- Prepare accounting schedules, analyses, and reports using QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel
- Controller, Assistant Controller, or senior-level accounting experience required
- Strong technical knowledge of ASC 606 and revenue recognition principles
- Demonstrated accrual accounting experience, including cash-to-accrual transitions
- Proficiency with Intuit Enterprise Suite or QuickBooks Online
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for analysis, reconciliations, and reporting
