How To MANAGE a Small Law Firm (HTM) places fractional C-suite executives with solo and small law firm owners across the United States. The fractional CMO in this role serves as the dedicated marketing executive for a portfolio of law firm clients, developing revenue-aligned strategies, building repeatable marketing systems, and coaching owners to connect marketing activity to business outcomes.
HTM supplies the client portfolio, so the focus is entirely on marketing leadership rather than business development. The role is a full-time W-2 position with base salary plus performance-based compensation, and candidates must reside in one of the specified eligible US states. No prior legal industry experience is required, as HTM provides training on the sector.
- Serve as the strategic marketing executive and adviser to a portfolio of law firm owners
- Develop marketing strategies directly tied to each client's revenue and business objectives
- Build marketing systems, processes, and accountability frameworks across client portfolios
- Oversee digital and traditional marketing initiatives, including brand positioning and lead generation
- Analyse KPIs, conversion metrics, and ROI to guide ongoing strategy and execution
- Coach business owners and their marketing teams to translate strategy into measurable results
- 10 or more years of senior marketing leadership experience, including time operating at CMO level or equivalent
- Demonstrated experience advising or managing marketing for multiple businesses or clients simultaneously
- Strong command of marketing strategy, lead generation, conversion, branding, analytics, and ROI measurement
- Proven ability to work directly with business owners, CEOs, or senior executives and hold them accountable
- Strong business acumen with the ability to connect marketing outcomes to revenue growth
- Must reside in AZ, CO, FL, GA, IL, MD, MI, NC, NJ, NY, PA, TX, VA, or WA and hold authorisation to work in the US without sponsorship
