Interim Chief Financial Officer

Tapio is running a confidential search on behalf of a private equity firm for an interim CFO to support one of its energy infrastructure portfolio companies. The role is primarily transaction-oriented, centred on capital markets and project finance, with broader responsibility for FP&A and accounting oversight.

The successful candidate will work closely with sponsors, lenders, and equity investors on active financing activity while ensuring the underlying finance function continues to operate smoothly. This is a hands-on engagement suited to someone who can start quickly and work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment. • Lead capital markets activity, including raising and structuring project debt, tax equity, and sponsor equity
• Oversee FP&A and accounting functions without requiring day-to-day operational involvement
• Liaise with sponsors, lenders, and equity investors on active financing transactions
• Maintain smooth operation of the finance function throughout the engagement
• Provide senior finance leadership on an interim basis, operating independently in a remote setting

• 10 or more years of finance experience with direct exposure to project finance and capital markets in utility-scale energy
• Demonstrated track record structuring and raising project debt, tax equity, and sponsor equity
• Strong FP&A and accounting fundamentals with experience overseeing both disciplines
• Background in a private equity-backed or sponsor-backed environment
• Prior CFO, Deputy CFO, or senior finance leadership experience, including interim or advisory roles
• Ability to start quickly and operate independently in a remote, fast-paced setting
