The role involves owning financial strategy and planning for a small, growing professional services firm. You'll build practical reporting systems, design compensation structures including ownership-aligned components, and establish lightweight systems the team can maintain.
- Own financial strategy, planning, and forecasting for growing professional services firm
- Build practical reporting and dashboards around key metrics including margin, revenue per head, cash flow, and utilisation
- Design compensation and incentive structure, including ownership-aligned upside components such as phantom equity or profit sharing
- Bring rigour to budgeting, pricing, and cash flow management processes
- Implement lightweight, low-administration systems that the team can maintain effectively
- Experience as fractional, interim, or full-time CFO, preferably with professional services or people-driven businesses
- Track record bringing financial structure to small or privately held companies
- Comfort designing compensation and incentive plans, including equity or equity-alternative structures
- Practical, build-it-yourself orientation rather than large-enterprise mindset
- Strong understanding of the tradeoffs between different compensation structures
