A fractional CFO is needed to own financial planning, board reporting, and multi-jurisdiction compliance for an AI platform company operating across the UK, KSA, and US.
Kodamai is an AI platform business based in Glasgow, building a formally verifiable agentic orchestration platform for enterprise use in regulated and high-stakes sectors. The company operates across UK, KSA, and US entities, has a team of more than 40 people, and is live in production with at least one listed enterprise client. The fractional CFO will work roughly one to two days per week on a consultancy basis, remote and UK-based.
The role covers the full breadth of a senior finance function: cash flow and runway management, monthly reporting, board pack preparation, annual budgeting, statutory compliance across three jurisdictions, banking and treasury, audit, cross-border tax advisory (including transfer pricing and R&D credits), and advising on fundraising readiness as the business scales toward further institutional investment rounds.
- Own cash flow forecasting and runway planning, keeping the board and leadership informed of the financial position
- Review and sign off monthly management accounts prepared by outsourced accountants, and translate them into insight for key stakeholders
- Prepare and present the finance section of board packs
- Manage the annual budgeting process end to end
- Ensure statutory filings and compliance are accurate and on time across UK, KSA, and US entities
- Lead relationships with auditors and cross-border tax advisers, covering transfer pricing, permanent establishment, and R&D tax credits
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or ICAS) with significant CFO or Finance Director experience
- Demonstrated track record in venture-backed technology or deeptech businesses, ideally pre-Series A through to Series B
- Hands-on experience managing multi-entity, multi-jurisdiction groups, with UK and US essential and KSA a strong advantage
- Comfortable working alongside outsourced accountancy firms and specialist tax advisers
- Strong board-level communication skills and a practical, low-ego approach suited to a small, fast-moving team
