Fractional CFO | Fintech Scale-Up

This hands-on fractional engagement reports directly to the CEO of a founder-led, London-based B2B FinTech whose platform is embedded in the daily operations of large financial and corporate institutions. Revenue is growing quickly across a small number of enterprise contracts, and the finance function needs to scale accordingly. An outsourced bookkeeping function is already in place to provide support.

The immediate priority is building reporting and forecasting infrastructure the founders can run the business on, followed by establishing commercial and control foundations ahead of the next stage of growth. The role is structured as an initial six-month term at 2-3 days per week in a Central London office, with a strong expectation of extension. The listing states a day rate of £700-800 per day.

• Own the monthly reporting cycle and produce board packs that founders and investors can rely on.
• Build and maintain the cash flow forecast, driving the operating model against it.
• Take ownership of ARR, retention, and unit economics reporting across an enterprise SaaS revenue base.
• Lead commercial modelling on pricing, contract structures, and new market entry.
• Manage statutory accounts, audit, and R&D tax credit processes with external advisors.
• Implement financial controls and processes suitable for a future funding round or transaction.
• Support the founders on investor reporting and fundraising preparation.

• ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified.
• Proven track record as a CFO or Finance Director in a VC-backed B2B software or FinTech business.
• Comfortable operating fractionally: able to onboard quickly, prioritise effectively, and work independently without a team below you.
• Strong commercial modelling and forecasting skills, with the ability to communicate clearly to a non-finance audience.
• Experience building a finance function from scratch rather than inheriting an established one.
• Desirable: experience guiding a business through a funding round or sale process.
