A PE-backed professional services business seeks a Fractional CFO for 1-2 days per week, providing strategic financial leadership alongside the CEO and private equity investors.
Camino Search is recruiting a Fractional CFO on behalf of a private equity-backed professional services business based in Central London. The engagement covers 1-2 days per week and calls for someone who can operate both strategically and hands-on, working closely with the CEO, board and PE investors as the business enters a new growth phase.
The role spans financial oversight, board-level reporting, commercial insight and support for potential M&A activity. The ideal candidate will bring demonstrable CFO or Finance Director experience within PE-backed professional services or consultancy environments, with the confidence to manage investor relationships and mentor an existing finance team.
- Partner with the CEO and private equity investors to provide strategic financial leadership and guidance.
- Oversee financial performance, cash flow, budgeting and forecasting.
- Deliver clear and insightful reporting to the board and investors on a regular basis.
- Support growth strategy, including assessment and execution of potential M&A activity.
- Drive improvements to financial processes, controls and internal reporting.
- Mentor and develop the existing finance team to ensure the function scales with the business.
- Proven track record as a CFO or Finance Director within PE-backed businesses.
- Background in professional services, consultancy or people-led business environments.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance strategic oversight and hands-on execution.
- Experience managing relationships with private equity investors and presenting at board level.
- Exposure to M&A, business integration or value creation initiatives is advantageous.
- Comfortable operating in a fractional capacity with meaningful impact across a limited weekly commitment.
