Interim Director - Respiratory Pulmonary Diagnostic Services
An interim director role overseeing Respiratory Care, Sleep Diagnostics, and Pulmonary Rehabilitation for a major academic health system in Tampa. A 3 to 6 month engagement with the possibility of a permanent appointment.

This interim director position sits under the Senior Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer and carries accountability for the administrative and clinical operations of Respiratory Care, Sleep Diagnostics, and Pulmonary Rehabilitation. The engagement runs 3 to 6 months, with the possibility of a permanent appointment based on performance and organisational fit. The role is suited to experienced leaders from peer academic institutions looking to apply their expertise in a mature, high-acuity teaching environment.
- Develop and implement long-term strategies for respiratory therapy and related programs.
- Manage daily operations across Respiratory Care, Sleep Diagnostics, and Pulmonary Rehabilitation.
- Ensure compliance with JCAHO, CAP, and relevant state and federal regulatory standards.
- Lead performance improvement initiatives and promote evidence-based clinical practices.
- Develop and manage departmental budgets, monitor expenditures, and drive efficiency.
- Partner with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals to coordinate integrated patient care and represent the department in hospital leadership forums.
- Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Care or a related field; master's degree preferred.
- Current Florida Respiratory Therapist licence and RRT credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
- Minimum 5 years of experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, staffing, and multi-disciplinary departmental operations.
- Experience with accreditation standards including JCAHO and CAP.
- Background from an academic or high-acuity health system environment preferred.
