Interim Controller

This is a hands-on interim leadership role supporting Pressed Cafe's corporate accounting office in Nashua, NH, for a 4 to 5 month engagement. The company operates 14 or more café locations across Massachusetts and New Hampshire, plus a central commissary, and the accounting team is described as high-performing and collaborative.

The incoming Controller will maintain GAAP-compliant controls, drive the month-end close process, prepare consolidated financial reports for the parent company, and support an ongoing migration from QuickBooks Desktop to NetSuite. A clean, well-documented handoff to the returning Controller is expected at the close of the engagement. Prior interim or leave-coverage Controller experience is strongly preferred.

• Oversee all general ledger and accounting functions across multiple café locations and the central commissary, ensuring GAAP compliance and regulatory adherence
• Drive and streamline the month-end close process, targeting reduced close times without sacrificing accuracy
• Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to management, including consolidation to the parent company
• Reconcile all balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis and prepare cash flow and financial forecasts as required
• Lead, mentor, and manage the accounting team on an interim basis, maintaining a collaborative and productive team culture
• Support the QuickBooks Desktop to NetSuite migration and liaise with the external CPA firm on audits and federal and state income tax filings

• 6 or more years of progressive accounting and finance experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial capacity overseeing a team of 4 or more
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business preferred; CPA designation an advantage
• Prior interim, fractional, or leave-coverage Controller experience strongly preferred, with the ability to ramp quickly
• NetSuite experience a strong advantage given the current systems migration; familiarity with R365, QuickBooks Desktop, or Fishbowl also valued
• Experience in restaurant, food service, or food manufacturing environments preferred
• Available to commit to the full on-site engagement in Nashua, NH, with flexibility to extend if required
