Ledgent Finance & Accounting is placing an Interim Controller with a manufacturing organisation in Irvine, CA for a 3 to 6 month engagement. The role carries full ownership of accounting operations, including general ledger, month-end and year-end close, accounts payable and receivable, fixed assets, and cost and inventory accounting. The successful candidate will work on-site five days per week and must be available to step into a leadership role immediately.
The position requires deep experience in large ERP environments such as SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, or Microsoft Dynamics, alongside a demonstrated ability to manage and develop sizable accounting teams. The controller will also support audit activity, strengthen internal controls, and collaborate with operations and supply chain leadership to improve financial visibility across the business.
- Lead all accounting operations including general ledger, month-end close, financial reporting, AP, AR, fixed assets, and cost accounting
- Oversee and develop a team of 8 or more direct reports, maintaining accountability and operational standards
- Deliver timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to executive leadership
- Drive process improvements and strengthen internal controls across the accounting function
- Partner with operations, supply chain, and manufacturing leadership to improve financial performance and visibility
- Manage audit support and ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA strongly preferred
- 10 or more years of progressive accounting leadership experience, including Controller or Assistant Controller roles in manufacturing
- Strong experience with large ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, or Microsoft Dynamics
- Proven success leading teams of 8 or more direct reports
- Solid knowledge of cost accounting, inventory accounting, and GAAP compliance
- Ability to quickly assess issues and implement practical solutions in a fast-paced environment
