Indirect Tax Advisory Consultant at Stripe

This fractional role sits within Stripe's Tax team and focuses on indirect tax advisory across global markets. The consultant will provide strategic guidance on VAT, GST, and sales tax obligations, supporting compliance and planning activities as Stripe continues to expand its payments infrastructure worldwide.

The position requires a practitioner comfortable navigating multi-jurisdiction indirect tax frameworks and engaging with internal stakeholders across finance, legal, and product to align tax strategy with business operations.

• Advise on indirect tax compliance obligations across VAT, GST, and sales tax jurisdictions
• Develop and review tax planning strategies to optimise indirect tax positions
• Partner with cross-functional teams including finance, legal, and product on tax-related matters
• Assess the indirect tax implications of new products, markets, and business changes
• Support process improvements to streamline indirect tax reporting and filing workflows
• Monitor regulatory changes across relevant jurisdictions and communicate impact to stakeholders

• Deep knowledge of global indirect tax regulations including VAT, GST, and US sales tax
• Experience advising on multi-jurisdiction indirect tax compliance and planning
• Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
• Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to translate complex tax issues clearly
• Prior experience in a technology, payments, or fintech context is advantageous
