Part-Time Head of Finance

SuperSummary is seeking an experienced, hands-on Head of Finance to own both the financial planning and accounting functions for a growing consumer subscription SaaS and EdTech business. The role is FP&A- and partnership-first but full-spectrum: you will build annual budgets and rolling forecasts, run monthly scenario modelling, own subscription KPI reporting (MRR, ARR, churn, LTV, CAC), and serve as the financial voice in leadership decisions. This is a part-time engagement of 10 to 20 hours per week.

On the controllership side, you will own the monthly close end-to-end, manage revenue recognition under ASC 606, oversee ChargeBee and Stripe billing operations, and manage the existing bookkeeper. The role also encompasses process improvement, including evaluating financial tooling and identifying opportunities to automate reconciliation and reporting workflows.

• Build and maintain the annual budget and rolling revenue forecasts, translating business strategy into driver-based financial models
• Track and report subscription SaaS metrics including MRR, ARR, churn, LTV, CAC, and net dollar retention
• Own the monthly close process end-to-end, producing accurate P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements
• Manage revenue recognition under ASC 606, including deferred revenue, chargebacks, cancellations, and prior-period adjustments
• Oversee ChargeBee and Stripe billing operations, ensuring subscription data flows accurately into the general ledger
• Partner with department heads on quarterly budget reviews, spend tracking, and resource allocation decisions

• 8 or more years of progressive finance and accounting experience, with meaningful exposure to a SaaS or subscription-based business
• Hands-on FP&A depth including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and building driver-based financial models from scratch
• Strong working knowledge of revenue recognition under ASC 606 and consumer subscription economics including deferred revenue and chargebacks
• Experience managing or overseeing a bookkeeper and coordinating with external tax advisors
• Comfortable presenting variance analysis and scenario models directly to a CEO and leadership team
• Familiarity with billing platforms such as ChargeBee or Stripe and their integration with the general ledger
