Global Head of Sustainability Advisory

Watershed's Sustainability Advisory team acts as a trusted partner to some of the world's largest companies, advising on post-measurement topics including reporting, target-setting, and decarbonisation. The Global Head of Sustainability Advisory leads a team of 11 advisors and one manager, setting strategy, driving operational excellence, and developing team capability across a globally distributed organisation.

The role involves translating regulatory changes such as CSRD, ISSB, and SBTi into actionable client guidance, partnering with Product and Engineering to embed sustainability intelligence into new offerings, and working closely with Customer Success, Support, and Methodology leadership to align execution. Up to 15% travel to global offices is expected, with four days per week in the New York City office.

• Lead and develop a globally distributed team of mid-career and senior sustainability advisors, coaching for high performance and growth.
• Define and evolve Watershed's decarbonisation strategy in partnership with cross-functional leaders across the business.
• Ensure delivery of high-quality advisory services to enterprise customers, bringing technical depth and measurable business value to every engagement.
• Optimise team operations for quality, efficiency, and scalability, including role specialisation and geographic distribution planning.
• Drive strategy for the Sustainability Advisory function in collaboration with the Head of Sustainability Advisory and Services.
• Build deep cross-functional relationships with Customer Success, Product, Support, and Methodology teams to align strategy and execution.

• 15 or more years of professional experience, including at least 6 years leading professional services teams in consulting or B2B SaaS environments.
• Demonstrated expertise in corporate decarbonisation, with a track record of delivering sustainability initiatives that produced measurable impact.
• Deep knowledge of climate frameworks such as GHGP, PCAF, SBTi, and ISO, and reporting frameworks including CSRD, ISSB, CDP, and CCDAA.
• Experience managing both individual contributors and managers, including senior-level professionals.
• Strong operational mindset with a bias toward data-driven decision-making and building repeatable systems in high-growth environments.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate strategy clearly and inspire confidence across teams and clients.
