Fractional Finance & Ops Director | SaaS Scale-Up | 2 days p/w

A high-growth SaaS business serving the global financial services sector is seeking a fractional Finance and Operations Director to build and run its back-office function. Recently funded for international expansion, the company needs someone to bring structure, pace, and modern systems thinking across finance, operations, and people administration. The role begins at roughly two days per week on-site in London, with scope to grow as the business scales.

This is a broad, hands-on position suited to a qualified accountant who is comfortable spanning management accounts, cashflow forecasting, payroll, HR administration, and process improvement. The successful candidate will act as a trusted operational lead, providing timely financial information to leadership and supporting planning and future investment readiness. Day rate is £550 to £650 per day, outside IR35.

• Own the day-to-day finance function, covering management accounts, cashflow forecasting, payroll oversight, and supplier and client payments
• Manage internal operations, keeping processes, tools, and administration organised and running efficiently
• Lead HR administration including onboarding, contracts, and headcount support as the team grows
• Introduce and improve systems and automation to make finance and operations faster and more scalable
• Provide clear, timely financial and operational reporting to the leadership team to support decision-making
• Support budgeting, planning, and reporting processes, including preparation for future investment and due diligence

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with Big 4 training background
• Approximately four years of relevant post-qualification experience across finance, operations, and HR
• Comfortable with modern finance software, cloud tools, and automation platforms
• Proven ability to work independently across a broad back-office remit in a small or scaling business
• Available and willing to work fully on-site in London from the outset
• Bonus: prior experience in a SaaS or technology business, or familiarity with an FCA-regulated environment
