Interim Executive Director - General Interest

Commonwealth Senior Living is seeking an interim Executive Director to serve as the operational leader of one of its senior living communities. The role carries full accountability for the community's programs, policies, staffing, and business plan execution. The director will maintain occupancy targets through direct marketing and admissions oversight, coordinate resident care and service delivery, and ensure the community operates in compliance with Virginia Department of Social Services standards at all times.

This is a hands-on leadership position requiring strong communication skills, a compassionate approach to resident wellbeing, and a proven track record in senior housing management. The director will also serve as the responsible party during formal licensing inspections and will actively develop and coach community staff.

• Oversee all community programs, policies, and day-to-day operational execution
• Manage marketing, public relations, and the resident evaluation and admissions process to maintain occupancy goals
• Coordinate all resident care services and ensure satisfaction through realistic care plan goals
• Hire, train, and schedule community staff, and actively coach performance across teams
• Ensure ongoing compliance with State Department of Social Services regulations and lead formal licensing inspections
• Drive a positive community culture aligned with the organisation's core values

• Minimum three years of supervisory experience in a senior housing environment
• Two years of post-secondary education required; a college degree is preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with a warm and compassionate approach
• Sound understanding of Virginia Department of Social Services standards for licensed assisted living facilities
• Demonstrated integrity, leadership maturity, and ability to develop staff
• Valid driving record and willingness to operate a company vehicle
