Fractional Controller

Notion CFO & Advisors is seeking an experienced Fractional Controller to serve as a trusted financial partner across a portfolio of client engagements. The role spans the full scope of accounting operations, from general ledger management and month-end close through to executive-ready financial packages and multi-scenario analysis. The successful candidate will work across diverse client environments, adapting quickly and delivering consistent, high-quality financial oversight.

This is a remote position with periodic in-person meetings in the Kansas City area. Compensation is based on experience, credentials, and demonstrated ability to manage a multi-client portfolio.

• Manage general ledger activity, accounts receivable and payable oversight, and month- and year-end close processes across multiple client accounts
• Build and deliver weekly and monthly financial reports, highlighting key trends and variances to support leadership decision-making
• Develop rolling forecasts and financial models to improve client visibility into cash flow, risks, and opportunities
• Prepare decision-focused financial packages for executive leadership, including board-ready materials and multi-scenario analysis
• Review and coach accounting staff to improve accuracy, consistency, and overall deliverable quality
• Serve as the primary liaison with banking relationships, external auditors, and tax advisors

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA licence or Master's degree strongly preferred
• 5 or more years of progressive accounting and finance experience
• Prior experience in a fractional, consulting, or multi-client role is highly regarded
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Sage, or similar accounting platforms
• Advanced Excel skills and demonstrated financial modelling capability
• Solid understanding of GAAP and relevant compliance frameworks
