Fractional Controller - Financial and Accounting Professional

This fractional Controller role sits within Frost CFO Services and serves client companies that do not require a dedicated internal accounting team. The position covers the full scope of accounting leadership, including financial statement preparation, month-end and year-end close, general ledger reconciliation, and budget development. The Controller works across varying project structures, collaborating with client executives, internal CFOs, and on-site accounting staff.

The role suits an experienced accounting professional comfortable operating independently across multiple client engagements. Some travel is required (approximately 25% of time), and the position can be based at any Frost, PLLC office or fully remote. Agricultural industry experience and familiarity with accounting platforms such as NetSuite or QuickBooks are advantageous.

• Develop short-, mid-, and long-term financial forecasts in collaboration with client and internal teams
• Prepare and oversee budgets aligned to client business objectives
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including bank reconciliations and general ledger review
• Direct the preparation of financial statements, including income statements and balance sheets
• Design, implement, and improve accounting policies, internal controls, and financial procedures
• Provide cost accounting and margin analysis to support profitability assessments across client products and services

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Professional Accountancy
• Minimum 7 to 10 years of accounting experience
• CPA or CMA certification preferred
• Experience in the agricultural industry strongly preferred
• Familiarity with accounting platforms such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, Great Plains, or Sage
• Willingness to travel approximately 25% of the time
