Fractional Controller

A consumer food company is seeking a fractional Controller to strengthen its accounting function and financial visibility. The role involves working closely with company leadership and an existing bookkeeper to bring year-to-date records current, improve the monthly close process, and establish scalable controls across two related business entities. Additional hours may be required during the initial cleanup and setup phase.

This is an ongoing fractional engagement with scope that may expand over time. The right candidate will be comfortable operating at both a strategic and detail-oriented level, with solid experience in food, beverage, CPG, or manufacturing environments and familiarity with inventory accounting, product costing, and multi-entity reporting.

• Bring year-to-date financials current and reconcile the balance sheet.
• Improve the monthly close, P&L, and financial reporting process.
• Build weekly cash-flow reporting and forecasting.
• Provide hands-on FP&A, budgeting, and performance analysis.
• Oversee inventory, raw materials, COGS, and product costing visibility across entities.
• Direct the existing bookkeeper and establish scalable processes and controls.

• Controller, Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, or equivalent background.
• Experience in food, beverage, CPG, consumer products, or manufacturing sectors.
• Strong inventory accounting skills including raw materials, COGS, product costing, and balance-sheet reconciliation.
• Experience managing multiple entities or separate sets of books.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks and ERP, MRP, or inventory management systems; Katana experience is a plus.
• Collaborative and hands-on with the ability to guide strategy while working through accounting detail.
