A global professional services organisation seeks an Interim CIO to lead its UK technology function, overseeing teams across multiple countries and driving major transformation programmes including Workday, AI, and automation initiatives.
This interim CIO engagement sits within a leading global professional services firm, with responsibility for a technology organisation spanning the UK, India, and strategic third-party partners. The role covers senior leaders across Technology, Security, and IT Governance, and carries accountability for both strategic direction and hands-on programme delivery.
Several major transformation programmes are already in motion, including enterprise technology strategy refinement, a Workday rollout across HR and Finance, a Data and AI transformation, Microsoft Copilot deployment, intelligent automation across business processes, legacy modernisation, and technology cost optimisation. The initial term is six months, with a strong likelihood of transitioning into a longer-term fractional engagement.
- Lead the UK technology function, including senior leaders across Technology, Security, and IT Governance
- Oversee and govern major transformation programmes spanning enterprise strategy, Workday, AI, and automation
- Shape and refine the enterprise technology strategy and investment roadmap
- Manage relationships with offshore teams in India and strategic third-party partners
- Drive technology cost optimisation and deliver measurable business value
- Balance strategic leadership with hands-on delivery accountability across multiple concurrent programmes
- Proven experience operating at CIO level within a complex, multi-site organisation
- Track record of delivering enterprise-wide technology transformation and measurable business outcomes
- Experience shaping technology strategy and managing technology investment decisions
- Familiarity with Workday, AI initiatives, and intelligent automation programmes
- Comfortable working outside IR35 on a contract basis
- UK-based with availability for a hybrid working pattern
