A publicly traded life sciences company, placed through UHY-US, is seeking an experienced Interim CFO to provide strategic financial leadership during a period of significant growth and capital formation. The role requires a highly visible, externally facing finance executive who can partner closely with the CEO and Board of Directors on financing activities, investor relations, and capital markets strategy.
The successful candidate will operate within a lean organisational structure, collaborating with outsourced accounting, finance, and SEC reporting teams. They must be able to commit fully to this single engagement and bring a demonstrated track record within the biotech, life sciences, or pharmaceutical sectors.
- Act as senior financial advisor to the CEO and Board of Directors on strategy and financing decisions
- Lead capital raising initiatives, coordinating with investors, investment bankers, and legal advisors
- Drive investor relations activities including roadshows, presentations, and financing discussions
- Develop and maintain relationships with banking partners, institutional investors, and capital market participants
- Oversee financial operations and collaborate with outsourced accounting and SEC reporting teams
- Support public company reporting requirements and ensure compliance with SEC filing processes
- Prior experience as a CFO or senior finance executive within life sciences, biotech, or pharmaceutical sectors
- Proven track record raising capital and executing financing transactions for public life sciences companies
- Strong capital markets expertise including investor relations, roadshows, and banking relationships
- Experience operating within a small or mid-sized public company environment
- Familiarity with SEC reporting and compliance requirements associated with public companies
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA and/or MBA preferred
