Controller & Finance / Accounting Manager OR Fractional CFO

SleekEZ, a patented pet grooming tools brand based in Billings, Montana, needs a capable finance professional to take ownership of its accounting infrastructure. In the near term the role is highly hands-on, requiring direct work in QuickBooks including historical cleanup, reconciliations, and month-end close. Over time the scope will expand as the business grows and further finance resources are added.

The successful candidate will manage AP/AR, inventory and COGS accounting, bank reconciliations, and e-commerce platform settlements, while also preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Beyond the books, the role partners directly with the CEO on budgets, cash-flow projections, KPI reporting, and financial planning. Building scalable internal controls from the ground up is a core expectation of this position.

• Own and maintain accurate books and records in QuickBooks, including cleanup and reconciliation of historical data
• Perform transaction coding, journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and month-end close adjustments
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes and reconcile all financial accounts including bank accounts and payment processors
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and variance analysis against budget and forecast
• Develop budgets, cash-flow projections, and management KPI reporting to support decision-making
• Establish internal financial controls, policies, and procedures covering purchasing, approvals, payments, payroll, and expense management
• Coordinate with external tax, legal, banking, and payroll partners and support tax filings and compliance activities

• Active CPA licence in good standing (required)
• Strong hands-on QuickBooks experience, including the ability to personally perform detailed accounting work
• Solid knowledge of US GAAP and sound accounting principles
• Experience with inventory accounting and cost of goods sold
• Background in consumer products, e-commerce, retail, manufacturing, or distribution preferred
• Strong Excel and financial analysis skills with experience building or improving internal controls
