Fractional CFO

CxORE is looking for a seasoned Fractional CFO to serve as a trusted partner to CEOs and executive teams across multiple client engagements. The role spans strategic finance, operational stabilisation, performance enablement, and financial systems advancement. The right candidate brings calm, structured leadership to complex environments and translates financial insight into clear, actionable direction.

This hybrid position is based in Sacramento and requires 10 to 20 hours per week. The CFO will shape financial planning, strengthen core processes and controls, build KPI frameworks, and develop finance teams through coaching and high expectations. Experience with nonprofit accounting and familiarity with platforms such as NetSuite or comparable systems is valued.

• Guide strategic financial planning, forecasting, and cash flow management across client organisations
• Assess and stabilise core operational processes, controls, and team capabilities during periods of transition
• Build financial models, KPI frameworks, and decision support tools that enable scalable growth
• Advance financial system maturity and data visibility using practical, modern solutions
• Serve as a trusted advisor to CEOs and boards, providing clear and confident financial direction
• Coach and develop finance teams through structured leadership, transparency, and high standards

• Ten or more years of senior finance leadership experience as a CFO, VP Finance, Controller, or equivalent
• Demonstrated ability to stabilise organisations and lead through operational transition or change
• Strong command of financial systems, reporting discipline, and operational rigour
• Prior fractional, advisory, or consulting experience managing multiple client engagements
• Experience supporting organisations through growth, scaling, or operational transformation
• Familiarity with platforms such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or comparable systems
