Contract CFO Consultant

Consultants act as outsourced CFOs and Controllers for a portfolio of clients across commercial and non-profit sectors, primarily in the Seattle, Portland, Denver, and North Texas markets. Engagements are part-time and flexible, with marketing and back-office support provided so consultants can focus on client-facing financial leadership.

The role covers the full scope of senior finance leadership: overseeing financial operations, cash forecasting, budgeting, business modelling, and strategic counsel to client senior management. Consultants serve as the primary liaison with external auditors, banks, legal advisers, and other professional service providers.

• Oversee all financial operations for clients, ensuring accurate and timely reporting and analysis
• Manage cash forecasting and cash flow planning across client engagements
• Provide strategic, operational, and tactical planning counsel to client senior leadership
• Build financial models, prepare reports, and deliver presentations to client boards and management
• Support budgeting, metrics development, and performance tracking for client operating divisions
• Coordinate with external auditors, banks, legal counsel, and other professional service providers on behalf of clients

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; advanced degree or recognised financial certification preferred (CPA, CMA, or equivalent)
• 20 or more years of total experience, with at least 10 years at a senior finance level
• Demonstrated background as a Director of Finance, VP Finance, or CFO at small to mid-sized organisations
• Hands-on capability: able to build models, write reports, and prepare presentations independently
• Non-profit experience desirable, including grant reporting, fund accounting, Form 990 preparation, and audit coordination
• Strong interpersonal skills to function as a trusted adviser and primary finance contact for client leadership teams
