Interim Vice President of Operations – Utility Construction Services (Private Equity)

A private equity-backed utility services and infrastructure construction company is seeking an interim operations leader to support a strategic turnaround across multiple regions and service lines. The business provides repair, maintenance, replacement and construction services to a broad range of utility customers nationally, covering gas, electric, water, telecom and renewables.

This is a hands-on, field-oriented leadership position, not a boardroom advisory role. The incoming VP of Operations will work closely with ownership and the executive team to drive operational excellence, safety compliance, profitability and customer satisfaction. Performance-based incentives are included in the compensation package.

• Lead field operations across gas, electric, water, telecom and renewables service lines
• Execute a strategic operational turnaround focused on performance, safety and profitability
• Mentor and develop regional leaders to strengthen accountability and execution
• Manage project delivery, cost control and quality across multiple geographies
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships across the utility contracting base
• Institute KPIs and performance metrics to track and sustain operational improvements

• Deep experience in utility construction and contracting, including gas, electric, water and telecom
• Proven track record in field operations leadership and project management
• Demonstrated ability to lead operational turnarounds in fast-paced environments
• Experience partnering with private equity ownership and executive teams
• Strong safety compliance knowledge relevant to utility and infrastructure sectors
• Comfortable operating as a hands-on leader across regional teams
