Interim Vice President, Finance

Reporting to the CFO, this six-month interim mandate covers the full finance function for a downtown Toronto organisation operating in a fast-paced environment. The role demands someone equally comfortable at the strategic level and hands-on, supporting business priorities across reporting, controls, planning, and audit. The successful candidate will also carry responsibility for treasury, tax compliance oversight, and vendor financial review, while actively developing and mentoring the finance team beneath them.

The position requires a CPA with progressive senior finance leadership experience gained in complex organisations, strong executive presence, and a commercially minded approach suited to a larger company environment.

• Lead financial reporting across monthly, quarterly, and annual cycles for senior leadership and key stakeholders
• Direct the annual budgeting process, forecasting cycles, and broader financial planning activity
• Maintain a robust financial control environment and support sound governance practices
• Oversee year-end financial statement preparation and manage the external audit process
• Manage cash, liquidity planning, treasury responsibilities, and tax compliance oversight
• Mentor and develop the finance team, driving accountability and high performance

• CPA designation required
• University degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related discipline
• Progressive senior finance leadership experience within complex, fast-paced organisations
• Deep expertise across financial reporting, controllership, FP&A, audit, cash management, and operational finance
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams and build structure, ownership, and accountability
• Strong executive presence and communication skills, with the ability to present clearly to senior stakeholders
