Interim Vice President Finance

The client is a privately held manufacturing organisation with multiple production facilities in Windsor, Ontario. The Windsor division is the company's largest and highest-growth business unit, currently undergoing significant expansion. The interim VP Finance will serve as a hands-on business partner to plant leadership and senior management, providing financial governance, cost oversight, and strategic decision support for a 6 to 12 month engagement.

This role requires close collaboration with operations, engineering, supply chain, and corporate finance to translate financial data into actionable insights. The successful candidate will bring deep manufacturing finance experience, strong cost accounting capability, and the ability to operate credibly at both the strategic and operational level. Accommodation is provided for the hybrid arrangement.

• Lead plant budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes, including monthly and year-end results presentation to leadership.
• Analyse variances against standards and budgets, ensuring strong internal controls and asset safeguarding.
• Develop and maintain plant overhead standards, including labour models, machine speeds, material yields, and allocation methodologies.
• Prepare ROI analyses and financial evaluations for capital expenditure proposals, and monitor capital spending against approved budgets.
• Define and manage key performance indicators, reports, and data systems supporting plant operations and corporate finance.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the divisional finance team while partnering across operations, engineering, and supply chain functions.

• University degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance, with a CPA designation required.
• 10 or more years of progressive finance or accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a Controller, VP, or CFO capacity.
• Demonstrated manufacturing industry experience with strong cost accounting and inventory management background.
• Experience in a recognised accounting firm strongly preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills and working knowledge of ERP and reporting tools such as Microsoft Dynamics, Great Plains, or Power BI.
• Hands-on, data-driven approach with the ability to operate credibly at both the strategic and shop-floor level.
