Amplify Capital is seeking a part-time VP Finance to lead financial strategy, reporting, and controls across the firm and its portfolio. The role operates in a hybrid model from Toronto, with remote arrangements considered for candidates outside the city. The engagement is structured around one to two days per week, with increased commitment expected during audit season and quarter-ends.
Day-to-day work includes managing fund and corporate financial statements, overseeing budgeting and cash flow, producing investor-facing reports, and supporting partners with data-driven insights. The VP Finance will also refine internal financial processes and coordinate with external accountants, auditors, and service providers to maintain compliance with relevant Canadian and U.S. regulations.
- Lead financial planning and forecasting, including budgeting and scenario analysis
- Manage and review fund and corporate financial statements
- Monitor portfolio and firm-level performance and produce timely management reports
- Oversee cash flow and ensure compliance with Canadian and U.S. accounting standards
- Collaborate with external accountants, auditors, and fund administrators
- Refine financial systems, workflows, and reporting processes
- CPA designation (CA preferred) with 5+ years of experience, including substantial fund accounting or fund finance exposure
- Demonstrated experience preparing and interpreting financial statements
- Strong proficiency in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and scenario analysis
- Knowledge of Canadian and U.S. accounting standards applicable to investment funds
- Experience in venture capital, private equity, or related financial services
- Effective communication and collaboration skills suited to a part-time, hybrid leadership role
