Interim Senior Education Director
A 3 to 4 month interim leadership role at a multiethnic early learning nonprofit, focused on strengthening operations, coaching program managers, and supporting staffing and enrollment across multiple sites.
Refugee Women's Alliance (ReWA) is seeking an experienced interim leader to provide hands-on operational support during a period of organisational transition and growth. The assignment spans approximately 3 to 4 months and covers multiple early learning sites across King County, WA.
The director will work alongside the Executive Director and senior leadership to maintain program continuity, guide managers through staffing changes, support new centre openings, and collaborate on enrollment strategies. The role is compensated at $62.50 to $82.00 per hour on a temporary basis, with no employer-sponsored benefits included.
- Mentor and coach program managers to strengthen leadership capability and team effectiveness
- Oversee day-to-day operations across multiple early learning sites in partnership with senior leadership
- Lead recruitment, hiring, and onboarding for new centre openings and existing vacancies
- Support employee retention by guiding managers and improving team stability
- Collaborate with leadership to develop and execute enrollment strategies aimed at reaching program capacity
- Observe program delivery and provide practical, real-time recommendations for operational improvement
- Senior leadership experience in early childhood education or a closely related field
- Proven track record managing or supporting multi-site program teams
- Strong background in hiring, onboarding, and staff development
- Demonstrated ability to step into organisations during transitions and deliver operational support quickly
- Strong interpersonal and coaching skills, with the ability to build trust across diverse teams
- Familiarity with Washington State early learning systems (preferred)
