Operations Director - Queen of Apostles Parish (Part-time)

Queen of Apostles Parish, located in Chicago's Lincoln Square neighbourhood, is seeking a part-time Operations Director to support its pastoral team during a period of growth. The role partners closely with the Pastor, Principal, and Vicariate leadership to manage the parish's financial, operational, and administrative functions in accordance with Archdiocesan policies.

The director will oversee budgeting, P&L, accounts receivable and payable, variance reporting, and reforecasting for both church and school operations. Additional responsibilities span facilities management, capital projects, IT systems, HR and payroll administration, vendor relationships, and parish communications. Strong accounting and finance experience, together with proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel, are essential.

• Prepare, evaluate, and communicate parish and school budgets, P&L statements, balance sheets, and general ledger reports
• Develop monthly variance reports and reforecasts, reviewing findings with the Pastor and Principal
• Manage operations staff including bookkeepers, office personnel, and maintenance staff through regular performance reviews
• Oversee facilities management, including major repairs, capital projects, security, leasing, and custodial functions
• Administer HR and payroll processes in coordination with the Vicariate Human Resource Manager
• Lead parish project planning, facilitate weekly staff meetings, and coordinate vendor and contract negotiations

• Must be a practising Catholic with demonstrated commitment to the Catholic Church's mission and values
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management
• Proven experience in accounting, finance, or a related business discipline
• Strong proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
• Experience in human resources practices including people leadership, interviewing, and policy application
• Ability to handle highly confidential information with discretion and integrity
