Consulting Managing Director - Strategic Finance Transformation

This role sits within a fast-growing, private equity-backed finance consulting firm seeking a Managing Director or Partner to lead its Boston-based strategic finance transformation practice. The successful candidate will work directly with CFOs and senior finance leadership teams to deliver meaningful change across finance operating models, process transformation (R2R, O2C, P2P, FP&A), performance management, shared services design, and ERP/EPM-enabled implementations.

This is a player-coach position combining hands-on delivery, client relationship stewardship, and practice development. Experience in accounting advisory, including controllership, financial reporting, IPO readiness, and transaction accounting, is considered an advantage. The firm expects the incoming leader to bring an established Boston and Northeast network alongside a demonstrated record of originating and growing advisory engagements.

• Lead and scale the firm's strategic finance transformation practice in Boston and across the Northeast
• Design and deliver finance operating model improvements and process transformations across R2R, O2C, P2P, and FP&A
• Oversee ERP and EPM-enabled transformation programs and post-deal value-creation initiatives
• Originate and expand senior client relationships, driving revenue generation across advisory engagements
• Build and mentor a consulting team, applying a player-coach approach to both delivery and business development
• Develop transformation roadmaps and lead performance management and shared services design projects

• 15 or more years of experience in finance transformation, CFO advisory, or strategic finance consulting
• Current Partner, Managing Director, or Principal-level consulting experience
• Established professional network across Boston and the broader Northeast region
• Proven track record of originating, structuring, and expanding advisory client engagements
• Strong grounding in ERP and EPM-enabled transformation, finance technology, and automation
• Accounting advisory background (controllership, financial reporting, IPO readiness) is a strong advantage
