This interim assignment places an experienced technology leader at the helm of an ASX-listed financial services business during a period of significant change. Over six months, the successful candidate will oversee infrastructure, security, vendor management, and data and analytics, while simultaneously managing the technology integration of a pending acquisition. The role sits within a Microsoft-centric environment and requires regular presence in Brisbane.
The position calls for an autonomous operator comfortable advising senior executives on technology risk, cost, and strategy. The incoming leader will also mentor and manage the existing technology team, maintaining stable day-to-day operations while driving forward-looking data and AI initiatives.
- Lead the asset strategy, including retirement and replacement of legacy infrastructure ahead of end-of-life deadlines.
- Own vendor and contract management processes, including consolidation efforts to improve cost efficiency.
- Partner with business stakeholders to define and refine the future-state technology roadmap.
- Oversee infrastructure, security, and data and analytics functions, with a focus on AI-driven efficiencies.
- Assess the acquired business's technology stack and lead the integration of its systems and infrastructure.
- Advise the executive team on technology risks, dependencies, and cost implications arising from the acquisition.
- Proven technology leadership experience at CIO, CTO, or Head of Technology level within a small-to-mid-cap organisation.
- Financial services industry background is essential, with familiarity in regulated, data-rich environments.
- Hands-on experience in a Microsoft-centric technology environment.
- Demonstrated experience managing vendor and asset strategies, including telecommunications and infrastructure consolidation.
- Prior involvement in mergers and acquisitions, including assessing and integrating technology stacks post-acquisition.
- Based in Brisbane with full Australian work rights for the duration of the contract.
