A Fortune 100 technology company is seeking an interim Director of Technical Accounting to join its global finance organisation. The role sits within a complex environment spanning multiple business lines, large-scale global operations, and new business initiatives. The director will lead portions of the financial reporting cycle, conduct technical GAAP research, and strengthen internal controls aligned with a COSO framework.
This position requires close collaboration with global finance teams, operations, and executive leadership. The successful candidate will handle complex accounting matters requiring sound judgement and cross-functional coordination, while also mentoring junior team members and contributing to special projects with global impact.
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes
- Assess, design, and strengthen internal controls in line with business growth
- Conduct and document technical accounting research and formal conclusions
- Partner with internal teams on new business launches, system enhancements, and process improvements
- Mentor and guide junior accounting staff while influencing stakeholders across levels
- Contribute to special projects with global operational impact
- 10+ years of progressive professional accounting experience
- Senior Manager-level background in public accounting or a large public company
- Strong GAAP technical knowledge and familiarity with the COSO internal controls framework
- Experience navigating complex organisational structures and large-scale business models
- CPA qualification (or equivalent) preferred, with Big 4 background an advantage
- Proven written and verbal communication skills, with comfort across technology and systems transformation
