This interim controller position sits within a family office environment, reporting directly to senior leadership across multiple operating companies. The primary focus is on building financial structure during a period of transition, covering bank reconciliation automation, budget versus actuals reporting, AP/AR oversight, and controls governance. The engagement spans an initial 3-6 months on a W2 contract basis, with the role based in Longmont or Denver, Colorado.

The successful candidate will be a hands-on finance leader comfortable in entrepreneurial or multi-entity settings. They will work alongside external tax advisors, manage two direct reports, and deliver accurate management reporting while driving broader process improvement and finance automation across the organisation.

Job Responsibilities
  • Automate and improve the bank reconciliation process, currently managed manually outside of PNC.
  • Design and implement a bi-weekly budget versus actuals reporting package across multiple operating companies.
  • Oversee and strengthen accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
  • Establish and enhance financial controls and governance processes.
  • Partner with external tax accountants and advisors to support compliance and reporting requirements.
  • Deliver timely financial reporting and analysis to senior leadership, and manage two direct reports.
Job Requirments
  • Proven experience as a Controller or senior finance leader in a multi-entity or complex environment.
  • Background in family offices, private businesses, or entrepreneurial organisations is advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of financial controls, reconciliations, AP/AR processes, and management reporting.
  • Experience implementing process improvements and finance automation initiatives.
  • Ability to bring discipline and structure to finance operations while remaining hands-on and adaptable.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, including experience working with external accounting and tax partners.
